Even though everyday I moan about the weather its safe to say I LOVE CHRISTMAS AND THE COLD. This is a little different to what I normally post, but I recently got sent some all organic (yay) products from Garden Apothecary and honestly they smell so good and uhhh it feels really nice putting the products on your face. I got the the rose refresher, the aphrodisiac refresher and rose & salt bath tea and the botanical bath powders and they're actually really well priced (definitely perfect for christmas). But anyway, I was casually in Hobbycraft getting photography stuff and bought a soap making kit thing aka just the weird olive oil soap blocks, violet perfume and a little bag of dried flowers.

They are so ugly, I love them. You basically melt the olive wierd block soap stuff (I'm sure they have a proper name but I'm too lazy to go find out) and add your perfume and dried flowers. I added some of the bath powders from Garden Apothecary too and it smelt really good. Then pour into moulds and let it set in the freezer and BAM cheap cute homemade soaps. Again, really good christmas presents. I hope my friends (who I bet are reading this) expect soap because that's all they're getting ;) I'm obvs the coolest sixteen year old around making soap lulz

Face: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer wear this most days if not mixed with Mac Studio Fix Finish NC25, MAC Moisture Cover concealer, Topshop Skin Glow for highlighter
Colour: Benefit Hoola to contour and then either Nars Orgasm blush, Mac Sunbasque, Mac Fluer, Topshop Cream Blush in Nutmeg or a blush from my Dior palette
Eyes: Either Topshop Liner, Laura Mercier Kohl, and the eyeshadows in my MAC palette are Typeography, Naked Lunch, Shadowy Lady, Cork and Expresso and if I'm going out maybe some Topshop Cream Eyeshadow in Darkness. Mascara wise I use anything going lulz
Lips: Everyday Burts Bees Lipbalm but if I'm going out or something maybe Topshop Lipstick in Vamp, Topshop Pencil in Amoured or Nars lipstick in Mascate

Having a lazy sunday catching up on LFW and watching some shows live, wasn't too impressed by NY but londons looking good. Went to the Teatum Jones spring/summer 2012 presentation at the RSA on friday, it was so beautiful. The presentation included a set with a chandelier and white wooden windows while the models playfully teeted around, styled with 20's makeup. The clothes themselves were flawless, a perfect balance of silk and structure, with the most hazy spring colours, lilacs blues and dusty pinks. Watch their S/S12 video here, you'll fall in love.

Yesterday was my last day of being vegan. It really made me a whole lot healthier, and I ate a lot of quinoa, vegetables, brown rice, cheerios (haha) and fruit. I didn't buy any vegan products and didn't really want to either, but I guess it was a worthwhile experience. I missed chocolate and yogurt so much! And a lot of other just simple ingredients which I couldn't eat, I honestly didn't realize how many products these days depend on something from animal, which was kinda sad. I had yogurt this morning and all the while I was enjoying it, I couldn't help think about how that cow was pumped with hormones and forced to produce unnatural amounts of milk. I guess that's the reality of most products. I'm definitely going to make more of an effort to think about where the food came from, and if I have choice, go for the animal-less product. I know a lot of people think 'its what we were born to do', but if its hurting something else then shouldnt we make an effort to stop that? But then again, what do i know. It really is an accustomed lifestyle and maybe when I'm older I'll try vegan-ism again, but for now its just vegetarianism for me.

London riots! It was really horrible to see towns I grew up in, and visit and surround me being burnt and attacked. So many livelihoods were destroyed, and its disgusting to think that people my age and below/older were doing it. My dads shop (which isn't his main business, but still) was attacked and was on the news/sun front page. Its really degrading to society to know that these people are out there. Just hope everyone who was affected is ok.

Sorry this was kind of heavy. I really do like that berry stain, though. :)

Partly this is due to the crappy weather england always has, but probably because my heart will always belong in winter and I was excited to realize that new sweaters will joining these this season. Hi. August is turning out to be really good again, much like last year. I like it.

On another note, i'm trying being vegan for the week, starting yesterday. I already dont eat any meat apart from chicken/turkey once a week, and never really eat cheese/egg or dairy products (in whole) but I'm definatly going to struggle as I didnt realize how much you couldnt eat! Obviously, for just the week I wont include clothes etc into the veganism.. but yeah. It's kind of exciting. Have a great weekend :-)

So it reached 30 degrees in the past couple of days, then London suddenly went into all day rain and grey skies. I actually don't mind too much, summer clothing isn't really my thing, and I actually haven't liked anything from topshop this summer (which is quite wierd). It means I have saved quite a lot of money which would of otherwise been spent, but I just had to pay a hefty phone bill which means I'm selling a lot on ebay at the moment. Apart from that, I'm just reading (like this issue of i-D from last year which i picked up this weekend for about £1!) and watching movies from the comfort on my bed. Those are the best days, I think.

thought I'd finally take a picture of one of the uninteresting outfits I've been wearing since I've been in post-holiday depression. since the weather is just rain, i only leave the house to meet with friends but otherwise I'm just mostly reading all day in my room (like a social reject) and baking cookies and watching movies.

I used to read everyday when i was younger, night and morning, and through the day too but towards the end of 2010 i stopped, only reading occasionally, but I'm defineatly starting to get back into again. any recommendations for new books? I'm sick of re-reading the same ones. some of my favourites are the bell jar by sylvia plath, atonement by ian mcewan, the virgin suicides by jeffrey eugenides, the book thief etc. I've also ordered a bunch of classics which I'm excited to read but would love any recommendations, thanks guys!

IBIZA - part one

i got back from ibiza on the early hours on sunday morning, i had an a really amazing time, it was so fun with all my friends. we rented a boat and sailed around the island, and dived off and snorkeled in the blue lagoons with the fish, ate a lot of paella, visited ibiza town and got stupid amounts of items with 'i love ibiza' written on it, went to the beaches (clear sea.. so gorgeous), slept outside some nights on the daybed because it was so warm and the stars were breathtakingly clear, pulled pranks on eachother (well, elliot and george attacked us with a fire extinguisher at 4.30am causing us to scream/choke/be blinded by blue ash and our room ruined), chilled in the over 30 degrees heat, celebrated vickys 16th by making her a make shift chocolate cake, went on late night walks around the beautiful area our villa was, bought too much chocolate and watermelon from the ibizian supermarkets and generally just chilled by the pool with the speakers full blast and a bunch of weird inflatables. part two coming sooon

i haven't been to school in like a month now, study leave is so good! apart from occasionally having a gsce, i mostly go to the gym/sleep/go out. i've been really awful with revising, and by that, i mean barely revising half an hour per test. thats so awful! but they've all been pretty fine actually, but i doubt i'll be saying that come results day.

anyway, i got this skirt from ebay and it was £1.49! dayyyuuum. oh and my ebay items are ending soonish and also my friend has some cute stuff too, so check that out.
i haven't got any exams for the next couple of days so i think i'm going to go shopping tomorrow, which is rather exciting (clearly my life is too cool) because i haven't been non-internet shopping in like weeks! doubt i will buy anything though, i'm really not too fussed on anything in shops at the moment.

4. i try and reply to comments but blogger wont let me, i'm not just being a plum. most were about quality of chanel nail varnishes, i think they're actually quite good! especially with a top base, they don't seem to chip for me. besides, they have really nice colours and such great packaging, so its all good.

i love the whole dip dye thing, and i also love it on clothes. i'm not a big fan of all the hippy circle colours, but i love the pastel streaks on clothes. anyway, i recently cut up an old white t-shirt i found to make a crop top, bought a cable knit jumper and also cut off some jeans to make shorts. i then bought lavender, light pink and light blue dye. this DIY is a bit of a fail, but i'd thought i'd post it anyway :)

1. choose what you want to dye, clean and leave them a little damp

2. follow instructions on the back on the dye packets (basically just add water and salt and mix)

3. leave the clothes in the dye for however long you want, mixing it regularly. i did it by dipping the end of the t-shirt in the pink, then holding the middle it in lavender, then the top blue, and leaving the collar slightly white to get the faded effect.

4. for the jumper i just threw it in. i dont think this especially worked as i left it to dry in the sun, and all the colour faded out.. so its actually its original colour again with a pinky tinge haha.

5. the light colours didn't work on the denim either unfortunately so i bleached them. i reckon white/light denim would look so good with the pastel dyes though!

6. rinse all in cold water then dry

things making me happy recently: booking the villa and flights for all of my five best friends to go with me to ibiza in july, alexa on vogue, strawberries in every supermarket because they are finally in season, getting the iphone4 for my birthday last week, wholemeal bagels, suck it and see being leaked, i never ever have to do french again, the fact that summer is so close

not so happy: gsce exams, having to drive out really far to find a store that sells wholemeal bagels, leaving my school and saying goodbye

i would like to be wearing right now a pink 60s shift dress, pyrite necklace with a black satchel and russell and bromley loafers and shopping or something but instead i'm about to go to the gym and then revise for my english and french gsce tomorrow. i actually really want these loafers though, in black or tan. i tried them on the other day and they are perfect, but they are around £135 (i think anyway) and thats way out of my budget at the moment. oh, and i also posted a couple of days ago but blogger deleted it. hopefully it'll come back soon :)

what i wore to lykke li- jumper from charity shop and necklace from car boot sale. she was so so so amazing! it was a very intimate venue aswell, we had such good seats.my favourite songs were definitely 'love out of lust', 'i follow rivers' and obviously 'dance dance dance'. i definitely recommend everyone to go buy wounded rhymes, its the best album.

speaking of concerts.. this is a disposable from when i saw katy perry a few weeks ago. and you know disposable cameras don't have zoom? yeah, thats how close we were. isn't she stunning?!

woah, long absence from blogging. well, anyway, hi! i had my drama performance last night. it went so well thank god (after several agonizing hours of sweat, blood (literally) and tears). we performed 4.48 psychosis by sarah kane, which is basically about a woman who is in love with her doctor, loses her baby and goes crazy and kills herself. its such a moving play, we made a couple of people cry hysterically (including the examiner) and others were just shocked. i have my textiles gsce deadline for tomorrow though and hardly done nothing. great. and my ict deadline is tomorrow also, and guess what? i've done hardly nothing. oh well. heres a couple of pictures of my new favourite lilac silk dress by topshop boutique, my acne wedges, blossom and pretty buildings. have a nice week everyone

aye up folks. how lovely has the weather been?! this means breakfast outside which is one of my favourite things ever. i've had such a good weekend, i saw katy perry on saturday. she was so amazing. we were standing, and about 4 people from the front and then by the end, we were only 1 person away and so literally, when she came forward, i was about two metres away from her a lot of the time. she is so perfect! and the show was fun, and the whole stage smelt of cotton candy. but now my life is pretty much drama rehearsals (sundays, 7.30 every morning, lunches, and after school) until the performance is over (next wednesday). so thats why i'm a little slow on blogging recently.
